Kaihua in Zhejiang Bids Farewell to the Era Without High-Speed Railway Service
At 8:37 a.m. on December 27, a “KAYOU” high-speed train slowly departed from Kaihua county, Quzhou city, Zhejiang province, passing through Hangzhou, Suzhou and other cities en route to its final destination, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.
With the official opening of the Hangzhou-Quzhou High Speed Railway, Kaihua has ended its history of having no high-speed railway service and has been formally integrated into the Yangtze River Delta “two-hour transport circle.” For this county located at the junction of Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, this not only represents a change in travel modes, but also signifies closer industrial, talent and market links with core cities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
